Job Summary:

Kush Bottles is looking for a Product Manager to join our team in the gas division. This individual will be based in our Garden Grove facility. The product manager is responsible for product planning, delivery and marketing throughout the product lifecycle.

3PL Warehouse managers and operators, supply chain team, vendors and suppliers

Examples of Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Productivity and leadership

  • Manage warehouse daily operations: Identify and implement productivity opportunities in operations, logistics and warehouse footprint

  • Develop measurements and monitor performance of warehouses in terms of inventory accuracy, shipment accuracy, and delivery performance

  • Lead, coach and develop/train employees to meet/exceed business goals & objectives

  • Allocate resources, establish and maintain a teamwork environment

  • Coordinate and process all customer shipments with focus on response time and accuracy

  • Understand and meet business requirements in cost, delivery, responsiveness and on-time delivery

Strategy

  • Serve as a liaison between the specialized departments within and outside the Supply Chain organization, working cross-functionally and cross-regionally to develop strategic planning with a holistic approach to future business needs

  • Develop and execute a global market leading sourcing strategy including planning, purchasing, production lead-times and status, execution of vendor agreements designed by the sourcing team, end-to-end global forecasting, international freight, Customs, Inventory levels, part number creation and strategy, Bill of materials, support supplier payments process

Continuous improvement

  • Address issues with root cause, corrective action and implement long term solutions

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required with internal and cross-functional teams

  • Deploy Lean methodology to simplify and improve operation: evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of warehouse layouts, processes, procedures, and daily workflow

  • Support, develop, and manage work instructions, documentation, and corrective action plans as part of continuous improvement model

Project management

  • Manage all warehouse project activity and enhance operational performance efficiency: Automation, implement process improvement techniques and expansion/relocation

  • Create ROI and cost benefit analysis for implementation of initiatives and expenditures to improve processes

  • Ability to manage large, complex projects and break them down and execute into manageable pieces, develop functional processes, and deliver them in a successful and timely manner

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop process/project plans. Typical functions include Planning, Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics, Regional DC Teams and Sales in order to improve inventory levels and product mix, reduce slow moving inventory and excess, and ultimately, improve working capital

Administrative operations

  • Lead / manage warehouse, tooling, system, suppliers and contractor's issues for on-going operations

  • Follow EHS guidance provided by Facilities/HR department for a safe work environment, driving a safety and compliance

  • Oversee the coordination of warehouse/building space allocation and layout expansion

3PL and 4PL activities

  • Responsible for 3PL entity, will interface and support for customer supply requirements. Ensure that the end-to-end operations are managed to customer requirements and meet or exceed order quality, velocity/predictability, and cost perspective standards

  • Responsible for securing new warehousing & distribution revenue through a targeted sales approach for new client bid proposals

 

Qualifications Guidelines

Education/training/experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of Warehouse Management, Enterprise Resource Planning system (Oracle preferred) transactional & fulfillment experience (consumer goods, parts, manufacturing, logistics etc.)

  • Minimum of 5 years of Sales-Operations experience in 3PL Warehouse

  • Management experience working for Top 3 PL and 4PL Service providers as: CEVA, DB Schenker, Ryder, Panalpina, DHL, Gefco, Penske, Mclane, LF Logistics

  • Must have minimum 10 years direct sales experience in the 3PL industry, especially value-added warehousing, including warehouse fulfillment, value-added assembly and packaging, manufacturing replenishment, domestic truckload, export crating, final-mile and white-glove delivery, and (air and ocean) port services

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization

  • English and Spanish required

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

  • Established project management skills

  • Adaptable / Flexible - being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances

Knowledge of:

  • Document, plan, market, and execute programs

  • Lean Experience, Kaizens, Workouts, Process mapping, improved productivity

  • Team value and has ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change

  • Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities

  • Safety, OSHA and EHS experience

  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

Physical Standards:

  • This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and handling/grasping of materials in manufacturing

  • Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key

  • Able to periodically participate in the inspection of company machinery and operations

  • Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less

 Travel:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
