Job Summary:

We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance to our users. You will work under direct supervision of the IT Director and be responsible for maintaining the company's IT network, servers, security systems, windows operating system, mac operating system, and phone system. You will have the opportunity to investigate and diagnose network problems, collect data, make recommendations, and carry out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions from start to finish. You will be the go-to person as support for all the users. Ultimately, you will ensure prompt and accurate customer service and increase client satisfaction.

Examples of Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Addressing user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking

  • Walking users through installing applications and computer peripherals

  • Asking targeted questions to diagnose problems

  • Onboarding and Offboarding users

  • Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions

  • Conduct remote troubleshooting

  • Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue

  • Customize desktop applications to meet user needs

  • Record technical issues and solutions in logs

  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel

  • Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional

  • Report customer feedback and potential product requests

  • Help create technical documentation and manuals

  • Manage inventory management system

 

Qualifications Guidelines

Education/training/experience:

  • Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role

  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments

  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners

  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs

  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions

  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills

  • Customer-oriented attitude

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or relevant field

 

Knowledge of:

  • Atlassian

  • Office365 Exchange

  • RingCentral

  • OneLogin

  • Ubiquiti Networks

 

Physical Standards:

  • This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and operating a computer workstation

  • Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key

  • Able to participate in the environments standing, moving onsite at events and tradeshows

  • This position may rarely require kneeling, bending, squatting

  • Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less
