The Merchandise Planner at MedMen is responsible for developing and driving strategic buy-plans which take into account budgetary goals, sales & gross margin targets, inventory goals, and promotional initiatives. The planner is a key partner in the financial decisions and implications of buying & turning MedMen’s retail inventory. The Merchandise Planner will work closely with the Buying, Allocations, Retail, Accounting and Finance Departments.

Work with the buying team to drive strategic merchandise financial plans to support MedMen’s inventory and product assortment
Develop and communicate comprehensive category-level product
Align bottoms up to top down plans with forecasts and future promotional activities.
Manage annual, seasonal, monthly & quarterly merchandise strategies to maximize revenue and increase profit margins for MedMen’s retail
Formulate pre-season plans and recommend purchase quantities along with the development of accurate receipt flow
Maintain weekly, monthly & quarterly reports on planned vs actualized shipped inventory, retail receipts, retail inventory, retail sales & forecast
Make recommendations to management and merchant teams on opportunities to bring in additional inventory or delay delivery of inventory due to
Owner of the monthly open-to-buy process, reporting and meeting
Support ad hoc project requests from the Manager or
Help on-board and train newly hired merchandise
Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business analytics, retail merchandising, or related field.
Strong background in a variety of inventory management concepts, practices and procedures.
Experience as a merchandise planner, demand planner, supply planner, or inventory analyst. Merchandise planner experience

This job operates in an office setting, sometimes in a retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, file cabinets and fax machines. This role may also require the employee to handle product, lifting boxes, taping boxes, etc
