The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, overseeing and managing all aspects of the safety program regarding our Eustis (FL) facility. This includes knowledge of the federal (OSHA) and state safety guidelines / requirements for cultivation, extraction and manufacturing of marijuana related products. He/she will report directly to the Plant Manager through daily contact and shall act as the subject matter expert for all things safety related at the facility.

Ensure the development, implementation and updating of the required written safety and health programs and plans.
Interact with company managers, supervisors and employees in a manner that promotes professionalism, respect and cooperation.
Be responsible for the safety of all visitors and contractors who enter or work in the facility.
Conduct periodic safety and health walk through inspections of all workplace facilities and make proper notifications regarding deficiencies.
Ensure that all safety training and other specifically required training is provided to all employees, visitors and contractors.
Ensure that OSHA 300 log of occupational injuries and illnesses is maintained and is also responsible for posting the annual summary from February 1st through April 30th for the plant.
Conduct or review all accident / injury investigation, illnesses and any exposure monitoring programs.
Maintain relationships with local fire and law enforcement agencies.
Establish and monitor the program for reporting and investigating “near miss” situations.
Review all employee inquiries, suggestions and complaints.
Maintain required safety and health documents and files.
Review all equipment inspections and repairs with facilities in regard to safety.
Required Education and Experience
High school degree required, A.S degree in Industrial Health and Safety or previous manufacturing experience preferred.
21 years or older is required.
Knowledge of federal and state safety / compliance policies is required.
Prior experience with manufacturing safety rules and SOP’s is desired.
