Product Development Assistant

Role Overview 

The Product Development Assistant will support various aspects of the Product Development process through working with cross functional teams as well as managing overseas and domestic vendors to ensure the development process runs efficiently. Contribute to the development process in order to design and procure products that position Grassroots Cannabis as a leader in the industry. Assist the Director of Product and Packaging innovation in daily tasks as needed. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the initiation, merchandising, and management of new product development initiatives

  • Create, update, and manage sample requests for product development and sales/marketing needs

  • Daily communication with overseas and domestic manufacturers

  • Develop and manage inventory forecasts to maximize sales opportunity while driving optimal inventory service levels at each cultivation/production facility

  • Place orders with overseas and domestic manufacturing partners, including follow up on payments, production progress, and delivery schedules

  • Perform daily activities that support the merchandising strategies. Complete timely workflow on all deliverables defined by the global product pipeline

  • Collaborate with Product Development, Graphic Design, and Sales on execution of products as defined by the line plan

  • Manage product specs and BOMs

  • Assist Director of Product and Packaging Innovation in overseeing all time-and-action calendars

  • Assist in developing and managing a product and packaging sample library

  • Assist in managing and organizing project details in Monday project management software

Experience/Competencies 

  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented

  • Self-starter mentality

  • Strong Microsoft office skills. Adobe Illustrator, photoshop, InDesign a plus

  • Strong communication skills a must

  • Flexible and adaptable to a very fast-paced environment
