The Post Harvest Lead Hand is a member of the Post-Harvest Team that works in conjunction with Managers, Supervisors, and other processing staff, facilitating and maintaining open lines of communication within the department. The Post Harvest Lead Hand is attentive to detail, able to maintain a clean work space, follow standard operating procedures, and ensure they are being followed by others. The successful candidate will be an energetic self-starter with a keen eye for detail and exceptional communication skills.
Acts as the direct line of communication between the Post-Harvest Supervisor and processing staff in the Trim Room.
Oversees the daily instruction received from Managers / Supervisors are being followed.
Ensures the trim room is operating safely and efficiently.
In conjunction with the Post Harvest Supervisor, conduct daily inspections of all trimming equipment, tools, and materials.
Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility inside the production area.
Assist with the daily logging of production room activities including, but not limited to, active processing, sanitation, general cleaning, surface testing, safety inspections, etc.
Demonstrate consistent attention to detail in all aspects of the trimming procedure.
Review standard operating procedures regularly to ensure that processes are being implemented in accordance with internal policies.
Able to work varied shifts in order to meet business requirements
Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Background
Must have meticulous attention to detail
Must be able to carry out repetitive tasks at a continuously high level of quality
Experience in a pharmaceutical / industrial / mechanical setting considered an asset
Ability to follow both written and oral instruction.
Ability to work in a noisy environment for at extended period of time
