The Opportunity 
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs to join our team!

This is a rare and exceptional new opportunity for a dynamic and self-starting to play a leading role in shaping the future of Canopy Growth’s Natural Health business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure consistency across all RA team members in regulatory interpretation in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Develop performance metrics for multiple countries regulatory teams and monitor and report on effectiveness.

  • Responsible for developing Global CBD policies and procedures on regulatory compliance and brand/business standards

  • Ensure all regulatory and labeling issues raised by Government in all countries for control brand products are resolved effectively and efficiently within the Regulatory compliance

  • Work with local market teams to enhance local Government relationships.

  • Educate management on all Cannabidiol regulations, guidelines and policies including strategic initiatives.  

  • Define regulatory submission strategies throughout product development and manage submission timelines of government initiatives.

  • Ensure that the product teams are informed of regulatory decisions, issues and potential problems and are provided with interpretation of applicable regulations and guidelines.

  • Coordinate submissions and amendments consistent with company strategies, regulatory requirements and timelines.

  • Communicate with regulatory authorities to refine regulatory roadmap, updates, collaboration and input.

  • Evaluate new regulatory intelligence, including new and revised regulations and guidance documents, assess potential impact on the organization and communicate to Senior Management.

  • Generate and establish policies and SOPS to support the regulatory function in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

  • Manages and provides leadership to build an efficient and effective regulatory affairs team.

  • Provide expertise and guidance during regulatory risk assessments.

  • Complete product approvals and listed in each Country

  • Assist document control, when assigned

  • Other duties as assigned  

Experience And Background

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Biological/Life Sciences/Bioengineering (Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry) or extensive experience and related training

  • Post-Graduate Regulatory Certification or RAC(CAN) preferred

  • 2-3 years direct regulatory experience with exposure to international markets and various regulatory parties in each market

  • Experience in consumer packaged goods, natural health products and natural supplements preferred

  • Knowledge and experience working with the Food and Drug Act, and associated Regulations, Policies and Guidance. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working with the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations and/or the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.      

Other Details 

This is a full-time position based out of Smiths Falls or Toronto, Ontario and will be reporting to Director of Business Development, Natural Health Products.
